Schofield Suggestions Week 5

Claudine 15(3)

Dear Schofield,

Okay, well, I’m dating this guy, and he’s really sweet. I’m in love with him, and I’ve been dating him for 6 months now. The problem is my parents don’t like him and don’t want me seeing him. What should I do? I tried talking to them, but it’s not working.

~ Really Upset
Dear Really Upset,
I would strongly recommend you sitting down with your parents with an open mind and a respectful attitude. I would begin by asking them what they don’t  like about your boyfriend. Be willing to listen to what they have to say. Parents are not perfect but they have years of experience and wisdom that you don’t have. Many times they can see the character flaws a whole lot easier than you can, especially if you’re BLINDED by LOVE. They want you to be protected from bad choices which could affect the rest of your life. Please keep in mind……While boyfriends come and go, parents and their wise counsel are forever. “Learning To Love Yourself Is The Greatest Love of All” Holla Back!
